The Brazilian market for biotechnology has an annual growth rate of about 10%. Laboratory equipment, test procedures for food and quality of raw materials, biological indicators for environmental pollution, instruments for medical research and tests for early diagnoses offer the highest sales potential. The Brazilian government is supporting the development of these industries with several programmes and new laws. Although, in the next years Brazil will still be dependent on know-how from abroad. Private laboratories and diagnostics create new growth impulses as they need to invest into new technologies for gaining success.
The Analítica Latin America 2009 is located in São Paulo in the south of Brazil. The south and south east region of Brazil is the center of the Brazilian biotechnology sector:
- 90% of all Brazilian biotechnology companies are located there
- 42% of all Brazilian biotechnology companies are located directly in the state of São Paulo
- the state of São Paulo covers 3% of the Brazilian territory and is producing 43% of all Brazilian imports and 41% of the industrial gross domestic product
With more than 500 exhibitors from more than 40 countries and over 11.000 visitors in 2007, Analítica Latin America will also in 2009 offer ideal opportunities for doing business with the Brazilian biotechnology industry.
